46th International Convention Delegates

Members wishing to be a delegate must be nominated at the June 13, 2024 Special Called Meeting. Members do not need to be present to be nominated, but must receive and later accept that nomination. Members can nominate themselves.

The 46th International Convention will take place in Los Angeles (August 12 - 16, 2024). The Convention is the highest governing body of our union. Delegates from AFSCME locals, councils, and retiree chapters through the country participate in debate, networking, skills learning, political action, and other activities.

Eight (8) delegates must be elected to represent AFSCME 1624. Four (4)alternates may be elected. Alternates access to the Convention is restricted and they will not be allowed on the Convention floor during voting sessions. Nominations and elections must follow the same rules as Executive Board elections. If elected as a delegate, AFSCME 1624 will assist with travel and lodging.

An AFSCME 1624 member must have been a member in good standing starting on April 12, 2024 and must maintain good standing through August 12, 2024 in order to be a Convention delegate.

The election manual and governing documents can be found by clicking here. The Convention website can be found by clicking here
